OFF SNOW REVIEW: The
Buzzcap is a favorite among the cool Kid snowboarder
and skier crowd. It's short shell design and comfortable
fit will keep them warm and looking great for
a whole day of riding. It has a passive venting
system that allows them to control the venting
of their head. It is basically two holes in the
forehead area and two in the back with sliders
that can be slid open or closed depending on how
warm or cold you are.
It comes in two popular colors Black and Smoke
(a tan-ish gray color). So you can't go wrong
there. The ear flaps and inside foam look comfortable
and well designed. Speaking of design it looks
as if Red had more of an oval head shape in mind
when they designed the Buzzcap.
The chin strap comes with a fleece cover so it
doesn't chafe your chin and it meets both the
CE and EN 1077 snow sports helmet standards. It
also has a goggle strap to keep those goggles
from sliding around and getting lost. If you don't
like the strap, that's OK, it's removable.
Overall, the quality is good and it is well designed.
The price makes it a great value for any young
ripper out there.
Never
without his Buzzcap, Shaun White is Supergrom—a
skate-influenced rider from So Cal who can drop
into a pipe and outride other pros twice his age.
Like Shaun, smaller riders at every mountain charge
hard. Whether they’re learning their first carve
or their first backside 3, the Buzzcap delivers
head protection that is lightweight and able to
withstand repeated impacts. [Back]
