OFF SNOW REVIEW:
FIRST LOOK:
Well, my first impression of this helmet is that it looks huge! It looks very
comfortable though. There is tons of padding everywhere! It doesn't look like
a very stylish helmet though. I think it's as basic a look as you can get.
COMFORT: 4.5
I would give this helmet a 4 ½ for comfort rating. It has lots of padding
all over the helmet. It is really soft, almost feels like I have a pillow wrapped
around my head, just heavier.
FIT: 4.5
I have more of an oval shaped head, and it seems to fit nicely. The earflaps are
a bit loose. They don't seem to fit snug on top of my ears. The helmet does seem
to sit higher on the back of my head. I feel like it isn't covering the entire
portion of the back of my head. The chinstrap is pretty comfortable. It sits perfectly
under my chin so it is not pressing up against my throat.
STYLE: 2
I am all for the protection that a helmet provides, but style has to play a factor
for me, and I think this helmet makes me look ridiculous! It has the logo on the
front and that's it. It is a very round shape like a bowling ball. BORING!
FEATURES: 3
This helmet has more vents than the Screamer, which is a plus. The earflaps are
removable, but not easy. The goggle retention strap is just your basic snap. It
works, but I'm not sure that it will stay in place.
CONCERNS:
I have a couple concerns. Even though it has vents, I'm not sure that it is going
to be enough to cool me off on those warm days. Also, the earflaps are a little
more difficult to remove since the chinstrap connects to the earflaps. You have
to pull the chinstrap through a tiny opening to get the earflap off the helmet.
COLOR:
There is only one color to choose from: Charcoal. So, you have no options there.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: 4
It was a very comfortable helmet, and fit my head nicely. I just wasn't happy
with the style too much. I think that this is just a very basic helmet. Not too
many features, and only one color choice, but great comfort.
