Info About Venting: |
The Fuse has a nice venting system. The main vents on the top of the helmet are adjustable via a slider on the top of the helmet and the remaining side vents are controlled by vent plugs similar to the nine. It's a great system. |

| Giro Fuse 2004 Manufacturer Description |

Floating big spins
in deep backcountry powder. Sliding stairs and rails everywhere. Carving lines
down faces that don't even have names yet. The future is happening now, and
chances are the Fuse is there.
Giro Fuse Features:
- In-Mold Construction:
In
unity there is strength. That's the idea behind In-mold - a unique construction
method that fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell directly to the helmet's
interior liner. The process reinforces each material, so In-mold helmets feature
larger vents while using less material, and you get a lighter, cooler helmet
that feels like a part of you.
- EPS Liners:
If
it wasn't the best, we wouldn't use it. But 15 years of R&D experience
and thousands of impact tests prove that EPS (expanded polystyrene is truly
the best material for snowsport helmet liners. Why? Because EPS offers the
most consistent performance over the widest range of conditions; gram for
gram it absorbs more impact energy than other materials; and it's incredibly
light.
- Goggle Notch:
Every
one of our helmets is designed to match-up with goggles for a comfortable,
gapless fit. Our deep Goggle Notch is a simple detail that works in tandem
with a security loop to keep goggles locked-in all day long. Because sometimes
it's the little things that make the biggest difference.
- Super Cool:
Vents
that work together are more effective at moving cool, fresh air through a
helmet while radiating heat and stale air out. So we design Super Cool vents
for maximum efficiency while optimizing the position and orientation of each
vent to increase their collective power. It's a difference you can feel.
- Thermostat:
Regulating your core temperature is the key to all-day riding comfort. Our
Thermostat ventilation control allows you to custom tune airflow instantly
with a simple, low-profile control button on the outside of the helmet. No
other system is faster or easier to adjust, and nothing is more effective
at keeping you fresh.
- Removable
Earpads: When
was the last time you rode all day in conditions that didn't change? That's
why helmets featuring removable earpads are more than a skate-style look.
Our earpads are snap to install or remove, they lock-in to the helmets securely,
and they offer a nice bit of extra warmth whenever you want it, without restricting
your hearing.
- Weather Strip:
High-performance
features don't have to be complex. Giro's waterproof Weatherstrip vent plugs
are lightweight, simple and highly effective for regulating your temperature
when you're out on the hell. Just snap a set inside the helmet for a tight
seal against the chill, or remove them to let excess heat radiate out. Everything
should be so easy.
- Certification:
ASTM F2040, CE EN1078
